Who We Are
Gidauniyar Jihar Katsina was launched at the Katsina Polo Ground on Saturday, 5th January,1991, as a non governmental organization. The Board of Trustees was formally inaugurated on Friday, 22nd February, 1991 under the chairmanship of Gen. (Dr.) Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR from 1991-2009.
The Late Galadiman Katsina, Justice Mamman Nasir, GCON took over following the voluntary retirement of the pioneer Chairman. He served from 2009 to 2019. After the death of Galadiman Katsina, Dr. U.A. Mutallab, CON took over as Chairman from 2019 to date. The Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Alh (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, CFR; the Emir of Daura, His Royal Higness, Alh (Dr.) Umar Farouq Umar, OFR and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR serve as Patrons.

Agriculture
In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 2, GJK places a strong emphasis on sustainable agriculture to end hunger, achieve food security, and promote sustainable practices. Recognizing the pivotal role of agriculture in global well-being, we work towards enhancing the resilience of small-scale farmers, promoting biodiversity, and implementing climate-smart agricultural techniques. By fostering innovation, supporting rural communities, and promoting sustainable land use, we aim to contribute to the broader vision of achieving food security, ending malnutrition, and building resilient agricultural systems for a more sustainable and equitable future.
Education
Gidauniya is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all. By prioritizing education, we work towards reducing disparities, promoting lifelong learning opportunities, and fostering a culture of innovation and creativity. Through strategic initiatives, we strive to enhance access to quality education, improve literacy rates, and empower individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for sustainable development, thus contributing to the broader global agenda of achieving inclusive and equitable education
Health
Our Foundation is dedicated to supporting Sustainable Development Goal 3, focusing on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all. We recognize the interconnectedness of health with overall development and are committed to addressing health challenges, particularly in underserved communities. Through targeted interventions, healthcare access improvement, and health education programs, we aim to reduce maternal and child mortality, combat infectious diseases, and strengthen health systems.
